Neck Pain: Why Suffer?

Neck pain is a sign that something is wrong!

Dr. Kjaer, Victoria Family Chiropractor, may help if you have:

    • pain that goes down the back of your neck into your shoulders
    • pain or spasm in your shoulders that radiates up into your neck
    • pain / numbness in the arms or hands
    • reduced ability to turn and bend your head
    • headaches
    • tight muscles or stiff joints
    • dizziness or loss of balance
    • blurred vision
    • a child complaining of a sore neck. For example, the backpack, falls or sports injuries can cause serious postural misalignments. Children benefit from chiropractic care too.

Neck pain is so common that some people believe it is a normal part of life. This is not the case. Dr. Kjaer, Victoria Family Chiropractor, has over 20 years of clinical experience helping patients live their lives to the fullest and alleviating their pain. Whether it is a recent injury or a chronic condition, we can help you by undoing stress in your busy life.

Causes

Neck symptoms can come about in a number of ways often reaching back to a person’s childhood. The problem could arise from a fall, sports injury, whiplash from a car accident, poor posture, sitting at a computer even with good posture or even the birth process itself.

Neck pain could be from one sudden incident that is life altering or it could be from a series of non-perceptible irritations that eventually culminate in a bigger problem. Usually, it is the typical activities we all do day-to-day that create neck pain.

Solution

It might seem a simple solution to take aspirin and drugs to cover up these symptoms or warning signs, but the actual cause of the neck pain is not being addressed. The need for chiropractic care has significantly increased with advances in mobile technology. For example, the forward head posture caused by texting can lead to neck pain and other upper extremity symptoms.

Many people find relief with chiropractic care. If a thorough examination reveals reduced range of motion, loss of normal spinal curves, mechanical restrictions, short ligaments or tight muscles, Dr. Kjaer can make a difference. Chiropractic treatments can alleviate the day-to-day tension that builds up in each of us. This can reduce your painful symptoms. Much of Dr. Kjaer’s practice is treating and correcting neck pain. A very common reason people are referred to this office is for neck pain.

Dr. Kjaer utilizes treatments to correct this and other other musculo-skeletal problems. Ultimately, we can help you get more out of your life: family, sports, hobbies, work, etc.

Mel tells a common story heard at our office:

“I am now 75.  I went to my doctor because my neck and shoulders were sore and I had a difficult time turning right and left with my head.  I had trouble sleeping at night time.  My doctor examined me and sent me for x-rays.  An accident activated problems in my neck, spine and shoulders.  My doctor suggested I see a chiropractor.  He sent me to Doctor Kjaer.

After a discussion with Dr. Kjaer he suggested I contact ICBC. ICBC started paying for my treatments.  I slowly started to get back to my original state of health.

I still see Dr. Kjaer for adjustments. My quality of life has improved.  I now sleep at nights.  My capability to turn right and left while driving has improved.  My quality of life has really improved.

I would suggest to anyone that is in my position to have patience and things will turn your way.  Thanks to Dr. Kjaer”.
